Privacy

Bernie respects your privacy, on this site as in the app: no account, no advertising, no tracking.

Who is responsible?

The bernie.websolutis.com website is published by Web Solutis, the controller of the processing described here. For any question about your data, write to contact@websolutis.com.

What this site does not do

  • No advertising or analytics cookies, no third-party trackers.
  • Fonts, icons and the anti-spam check are served by our own server: your browser does not contact Google or any other service to display these pages.
  • No account to create.

The “Suggest an idea” form

When you send a suggestion, we receive: its kind, title and description, the technical details you give (platform, version, machine, steps), the files you attach, the language of the page and, if you provide it, your e-mail address with whether you want to be kept informed.

This data is used only to read, sort and follow up on your suggestion, and to answer you if you left an address. It is stored on our server, outside the public part of the site, and only read by the Bernie team. A notification is sent by e-mail to our contact address.

Retention: suggestions and their attachments are kept while they are being followed up, and at the latest three years after our last exchange. Your e-mail address is erased sooner on simple request, and you can ask at any time for your suggestions to be erased.

Anti-spam: the form uses ALTCHA, hosted by us. Your browser solves a small calculation, with no cookie and no personal data. Your IP address is not stored: a temporary fingerprint, erased after one hour, limits the number of submissions.

Donations

Donations are handled by PayPal (or by the App Store in the app), under their own privacy rules. We only receive what these services pass on for a payment: name, e-mail address, amount. This information is kept for as long as our accounting obligations require (ten years), then erased.

Storage in your browser

If you close the bar that suggests another language, or pick a language, this choice is kept in your browser (local storage) so it is not suggested again. It is never sent to us.

Server logs

Like any web server, ours keeps technical logs (IP address, page requested, date), used for security and to keep the site running, and kept for one year at most.

The Bernie app

The app needs no account. Your drawings, your projects and your camera images stay on your devices; the laser is controlled directly, over USB or your local network, without going through our servers.

Usage statistics. The app may send anonymous usage statistics (features used, type of laser connected, approximate job duration), with no file name, project content or personal identifier. They are received by our own server and help us learn what is useful and what causes problems. A switch turns them off in the app settings (General › Usage Statistics).

Share feedback. When you send a suggestion, a bug or a success from the app, we receive what you write and, if you add them: your e-mail address, a capture of the window, a file, technical information (app version, system, laser type) and the app log. This data is used only to read and follow up on your feedback, and to reply if you left an address. It is stored on our server, outside the public area, read only by the Bernie team, and kept like the suggestions sent from this website.

Art libraries and updates. Downloading an art library goes through our server, which keeps technical logs as it does for the website; checking for a new version queries the App Store.

Tips. Optional tips are in-app purchases processed by the App Store under Apple’s rules; we only receive the amount.

Sharing the laser. Hub mode and Bernie Link work only on your local network, between your own devices.

Your rights

You can access your data, have it corrected or erased, object to its processing or ask for its restriction and portability, by writing to contact@websolutis.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or with the authority of your country.
