Support the project
Free for everyone. Thanks to a few.
Bernie sells nothing: no license, no subscription, no “Pro” version. It lives on tips from the people it has helped. If a successful engraving made you smile, this is the place.

One-off, no account
You will enter the amount on PayPal. Secure payment by PayPal. On Mac and iPad, you can also give through the App Store, right in the app.
What your donation unlocks: nothing.
This isn’t a quirk. Software that drives a laser has to be the same for everyone: whoever gives ten euros and whoever gives nothing engrave with the same safeguards, the same settings, the same updates.
- Every feature, no exceptions
- All six platforms and Bernie Link
- More than 1,800 material settings
- Every update
How to give
In the app, on Mac and iPad
Tips are built into Bernie and paid through the App Store, like any purchase — in two taps.
With PayPal, anywhere
From Windows, Linux, Bernie Studio or simply this site: a PayPal donation, of any amount you like.
No budget? Help in other ways.
Free software moves forward mostly thanks to the people who use it. These gestures count just as much.
Suggest an idea or report a problem
From the app, attaching the log and the preview if you wish. Every report makes Bernie more reliable for everyone.
Leave a review
A few words on the App Store help other engravers discover Bernie.
Spread the word
At the fablab, on a forum, in the neighbour’s workshop: word of mouth is still the best funding there is.
Questions about donations
Does a donation unlock anything?
No, nothing at all. Everyone has access to everything, from day one. A tip is a thank-you, not a purchase.
Will Bernie stay free?
That’s the whole point of the project: complete laser engraving software, free for everyone, carried by those who wish to.
Can I give without creating an account?
Bernie never asks you for an account. The payment itself is handled by PayPal or the App Store, depending on the method you choose.
